Turkse film in lijst beste films van 21ste eeuw

Er is een Turkse film opgenomen in de lijst met 100 beste films van de 21ste eeuw.

De lijst werd opgesteld door BBC en bevat vele bekende titels als  The pianist, The Dark Knight, WALL-E, Finding Nemo en Mad Max. De top 10 is opvallend met Mulholland Drive op nummer 1.

In de lijst is één film uit Turkije opgenomen. Op nummer 54 staat ‘Once Upon a Time in Anatolia’ van Nuri Bilge Ceylan uit 2011. De film werd in 2011 genomineerd voor de Palme d’Or tijdens het Cannes Film Festival. Uiteindelijk kreeg het de juryprijs. ‘Winter Sleep’ van Ceylan uit 2014 wist de Palme d’Or wel binnen te slepen.
